About
My work from home (WFH) journey began during the onset of COVID. One day, the revolving office doors ceased to spin, and I had to set up shop in a small two bedroom apartment. Daycares closed too, and schools went remote which meant having three kids in our small living space.
I ended up squeezing a desk and chair in the only quiet-ish space in our home – the bedroom closet – and worked from a laptop and external monitor out of that tiny space for months. Once we found out the office was going to be permanently closed, my wife and I decided it was time to relocate.
We moved into a larger space, and I slowly began upgrading my WFH area to maximize comfort, productivity, and overall enjoyment of my surroundings. I’m a bit OCD when it comes to choosing gear (i.e., lighting, monitor arms, custom mechanical keyboard, headset, etc.), and you can check out some of my gear reviews here. I’m still working towards achieving my ultimate WFH wish list; it’s a work-in-progress.
Once we (and COVID) got settled in, it was time to explore our new neighborhood, get our kids into activities, and refocus on some personal goals I lost sight of (i.e., health and fitness).
My health and fitness goals are always shifting, and for 2023 I’m focusing on marathon training, sandbag training (for strength and conditioning), yoga, and some classic strength training in the gym (it’s nice to get in there and move some iron). You can check out the free workout plans I’m using here.
Life is all about balance, and I’m constantly finetuning my schedule to maximize work and life productivity.
